I did a few changes to my website and wanted to let you know. It has a new web address of www.roxannehandelong.com. The other one of www.byrmh.com still works, but I might do away with it down the road. I added a shopping cart to the website and you'll see that link on the sidebar there or there's a direct link on the sidebar here, look for (Shop). There are other pages and links to other places where I sell with a promotional page attached for when any sales are going on. Discounts are good. :)
Ok so I think that's about it.
Now I leave you with a few pictures.
"Through The Storm"
This is one of the candles that we burned when our power went out from hurricane Sandy.
Hurricane Sandy hit our area on Monday and we lost power that night around 9:00 p.m. It did come on Wednesday but only lasted for about 45 minutes and it was back to darkness. Finally it came on today at 4:00 p.m and has (thank goodness) stayed on now. There is a hole in the roof where some shingles came off and that was basically the only damage we got. We are very grateful because there are so many that are much worse off. My prayers go out to those less fortunate. Now there is talk of some kind of storm coming next week. This weather is being crazy.
Here are a few things that I have been working on.
All of these are available in my print shops and....and now I'm happy to say in my Etsy shop! These prints and more will be appearing slowly, so if you don't see them all they will be coming soon. I finally decided to sit down and figure things out with my printer. It was a little frustrating at first, but it's worth it to have them in my shop.
I said in my last post that there might be some great news to share with you. Well there is! I finally did it! Did what you say? Well I finally found a wonderful website where I can sell prints of my photos. Because you know I take way too many of them. I have been searching for a place to be able to do this but never quite felt comfortable with them until I found Fine Art America. There are lots of options for the photos to choose from and they print and ship everything to the customer. Below is my first photo that I listed for sale. Only one for now. Got many more photos to list and will also offer prints of some of my artwork.
Click on the logo below to go to my profile page.
I also have a website option too. Click here for that. Whenever I post a photo on Fine Art America it will also be posted to my artist website. You can purchase items from either site.
I always wanted to offer prints of my work but didn't know the first thing about doing that myself at home. It feels like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders by being able to do this and hope it works out. If it doesn't well at least I tried.
So there you have it. My big news!
Before I end this post I want to say thank you to those of you who encouraged me to offer prints of my work. You know who you are. THANK YOU!
Ok so there might be some, hopefully, super news about something that I'll share with you soon. I'll give you one hint......photography. I don't want to jinx it, probably already did, but I'm excited about it and can't contain myself. So keep your fingers crossed that everything goes well and then I'll let you know what it's all about. Remember fingers crossed.
I remember doing lino block printing in high school and thought it was pretty neat back then, but forgot about it. Recently I discovered it again and bought a starter kit to see if it was something that I wanted to pursue more. If you are unfamiliar with lino block printing please click here for more info. That will do a better job of explaining it. Ok so for a few days I thought really hard of what my first design would be. I almost lost sleep over it. Well the first two ideas were a no go so then I said the hay with it and started drawing lines on the lino block and ended up with just a simple design. Nothing fancy here, but I like it and now yes I'm hooked.
It wasn't until I did the first printing that it reminded me of zebra stripes. I will be experimenting with this same design with other colors, different papers and also coming up with other designs. Fancier ones.
