Doors

In the last blog post I shared some personal stuff and mentioned about shutting one door in my life and opening another. Well that saying gave me inspiration to do some aceo paintings of doors. I like the fact that these doors can have a dual meaning in which one can see the door as a way to shut the bad stuff behind them or to open a new chapter in their life.

Door #1

Door #2

Door #3

All measure 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches and were done with acrylic paint on watercolor paper.

  1. In Celtic spirituality, doors are considered to be sacred spaces because they are a transition from one reality to another. Even if that reality is as mundane as "inside the house" to "outside the house"! You are going through your own sacred transition right now.

  2. Oh wow, I like these very much!! My favourite is the pink one. I like the way your brush strokes make it seem like the air is moving, like the whole piece is alive! To me, anyway! Do you know, my Mom says that many Chinese believe that a red door brings in good luck and happiness to the home :D

  6. That's a great way to look at things, and, in my opinion, nothing helps more than crafting to work through tough times!
